BBC News profiled the Ultracane showing how the use of Ultrasound in the product was based on the same echo location effects that bats create when navigating in the dark.

Showing the cane in action, users rated it ‘a valuable tool.’  The report by Jenny Hill coincides with the launch of the Ultracane product at exhibitions and events throughout the UK and Europe. The video feature can be played here
