Minima Design Director Nick Field spoke at the 2011 MediLink WM Knowledge Transfer Network  Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAIs) Group Conference at Crewe Hall in Cheshire.  A demonstration was given sharing insights of how real world requirements and market feedback influence material selection at the design stage of medical product development.

In healthcare product design, the focus is ordinarily oriented towards performance, usability and cost.  Minima’s insights into HAIs help to also raise up  issues such as the ease of cleanliness and understanding user behaviour to be able to put design to use as a tool to help combat HAIs.

The event showcased current understanding  in the area and provided a forum to develop new strategies to continue successful trends in the reduction of HAIs in NHS hospitals.
