A material advantage
From polyurethane to brass, steel, plastics and epoxy board fibre Minima’s CNC machining capabilities cover the widest range of materials to produce excellent prototypes that move products swiftly towards commercial success.
Sometimes, for a one-off part, a 3D printed rapid prototype is neither the quickest nor the best quality route to prove a new design. When high accuracy and good finish are priorities other options may provide better results.
Among Minima’s full service of prototyping is CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining expertise. For some applications, this route can provide a more accurate result – to 0.01mm tolerance – with improved surface quality than either Stereo Lithography (SLA) or Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) parts.
It often has the added benefit of being able to use the actual substance intended for eventual mass manufacture.
We are able to machine a polished surface into a range of materials with a minimum of post-operation finishing even in curved forms. The process also has fewer size limitations. Previous work has included cutting life-sized body mannequins.
The results are high quality components that are a closer simulation to a production part with excellent surface finish.
